Halloween Memory

Kayla was getting ready to go trick or treating when she got mad that she couldn't find her costume. She was upset at the fact her brother took her costume and dressed the dog. Kayla was so mad she began screaming and cursing at her brother. She went into the garage and tried talking if off the dog when her mom came in the side door and scared her. She started screaming and took the trashcan and tossed it across the door almost hitting her mom. Kayla's mom took off the mask and Kayla ran up to her and gave her a hug and told her never to do that again because she had gotten startled. After Kayla had calmed down her mom, sister, brother and her went out to go collect candy and have a good night.

“’The "Highwayman" and "Typhoid Fever" Comparison.

In the two stories "Typhoid Fever" and "Highwayman" there are a lot of similar details. In "Typhoid fever," Patricia was not aloud to talk to Frank because of the the different diseases they had; and Bess, the landlord's daughter, was not aloud to talk to man because the dad would not approve of it. The nuns, and the father wouldn't let the girl talk to the boy. In both stories the girls fall in love with the men they are not allowed to talk to. In " Highwayman" the girls Bess dies because she was tied down, with a gun pointed at her and if she moved if would set off. Then in "Typhoid fever" Patricia dies while going into the bathroom and collapsed. It was important that Frank heard the ending of "Highwayman" because he wanted to see if he was experiencing the same feeling for Patricia as the Highwayman was for Bess.

“’Typhoid Fever’– Present Tense Childhood Memory.”

I am around seven years old and we are at my uncles house. My sister, brother and I are staying the night because my parents went on a vacation. My uncle had asked us if we want to play a game and we said it depends on the game. He makes us think of 10 games that we want to play until he tells us the one we are actually going to participate in. I notice his ring finger is missing. We all ask him how he lost his finger and he gives us a sarcastic answer. Billie tells us that he lost his finger under the couch; and the game we are going to play is find the finger. We all believed him because we were all young. My sister, brother and I are searching for hours around the house and couldn't find his finger. He had us searching to what it seemed like forever. Finally we gave up and layed on the couch. He then told us that he had to tell us something. Uncle Billie told us that he forgot he vacuumed it up when he was vacuuming. We all started laughing and told him that we forgave him for making us look. Now that I'm fifteen I can't believe I fell for any of that.

“The Storyteller” from Another Point of View.”

My sister, sister and I were extremely bored on the train so we started asking my aunt a lot of questions. I started smacking the cushions of the seat, producing a cloud of dust at each blow. Then my aunt told us to come over to the window so all three of us went. I thought to myself " can this day get any more boring?" We started asking a lot of questions like " Why are they being driven out of that field?" I could tell that my aunt was getting really annoyed with us that we kept asking her questions. Then my aunt asked us if we wanted to hear a story so we went to go sit by her. There was a look on the bachelor's face was deepening into a scowl. He was very unsympathetic. Then our aunt began telling the story and we started interrupting her and asking questions about the girl. The story was about a girl who did good things, and then good things that happened to her. I didn't listen to the first part, but it was so stupid. Then my aunt got into an argument with the bachelor about the story. Then the bachelor told us a story. We asked some questions, but not a lot. After he got done he he left us in amusement. It was the most beautiful story ever. Then our aunt thought that the story was improper to tell young children like our age. I could see that she was getting mad and frustrated. Then as the bachelor got off he told my aunt " Well at least I could keep them quiet for ten minutes, which more more than you were able to do." My aunt, anywhere we go I know shes going to be disappointed by my sister, sister and I.

“’The Storyteller’ - Memorable Books from My Childhood.”

When I was little I never really read anybooks and if I did they would have to be interesting. Some of the five books t hat stood out to me when I was little are:The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka, Are You My Mother? by Philip D. Eastman, Curious George by Hans Augusto Rey, Clifford, the Big Red Dog by Norman Bridwell and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by John Archambault. Out of those five books my favorite was Chika Chika Boom Boom. I like this story because it teaches the alphabet in a fun memorable way.A told B and B told C, " I'll met you at the top of the coconut tree."The colors stood out, the poka dotted edges, letters and different shades of green for the coconut tree caught my attention. I reminded of this book often because my brother has it.

“Chilean Miners Rescue."

33 Chilean minors working in a copper mine in the Atacama desert when it collapsed trapping them inside for more than two months. This event didn't affect me personally. On the other hand if It was somebody I knew I would be in shock or even devastation mode. Rescuers told the minors that it was going to take them about two days to get them out; it actually only took twenty-two hours. I'm glad that the rescuers got them all out in one day so their wouldn't be any that was left alone. There was more than eight hundred journalists and cameramen surrounding the site. I would not want a whole bunch of people around me while I was being rescued; it would be scary. After each minor was rescued and was at the surface they got to greet three of their family members. I would be full of joy to know that when I got out a disaster like that, my family would be waiting for me to tell me that everything was ok. If I was in the minors shoes I would scared of staying somewhere, being stuck to other people and not dying. This whole event that occured was scary but didn't affect my personal life.

“Autobiographical Narrative Reflection.”

The things I thing I did best on was writing more paragraphs than I was supose to. I also gave some paragraphs awesome details, and didn't use below grade level writing. The things I need to do differently on my paragraph next time are to re-read over it multiple times, use a lot more advanced details and make sure that I am satisfied with it. Ms. Priester could help me more by having me come in during both of our free time and going over the things I don't understand and could tell me what I need to work on more.
